ABOUT ME

I was born in Vitória, a tiny island in Brazil, where I did my Bachelor's in Physics. My Master thesis was about 'loop quantisation' of topological theories, specially, 2+1 dimensional gravity and Chern-Simons. My background in loops led me to learn and work on the topic started by Luiz A. Ferreira in 1997 on the generalisation of integrability methods beyond 1+1 dimensions using the loop space; the outcome of that is our description of gauge theories in loop space.

MAIN ONGOING INVESTIGATIONS

Hidden symmetries of the gauge theories for the Fundamental Interactions of Nature

At the quantum level, conformal non-abelian field theories develop a scale, leading to the quark-gluon confinement.

We approach part of this problem by investigating the hidden symmetries in the loop space formulation of these theories.

Solitons in low dimensions

We investigate the existence and dynamics of solitonic solutions in integrable and non-integrable field theories.
